PRESS RELEASE ON DETAILS OF THE NEXT NOSA NATIONAL CONFERENCE(UNIBEN2017)

In a press conference held by the NOSA national president immediately after a closed door meeting between the NOSA national staff adviser(Dr.A.U. Megwas), NOSA leaders representing each chapters, and the national president in optometry department of the University of Imo state today. Comr. Nwadialor Paul, NOSA national president, disclosed to the entire media and public that the planning of the 8th NOSA national conference has been officially geared up. He went further to disclose details of the conference and how unique and interesting it will be.

In his words, “we have inaugurated the local organizing committee( LOC) and planning has kicked-off in full velocity. This year’s conference has a lot of packages and we are determined not to compromise on standard. Because by the nature of the conference itself, not just nigeria is watching but the world is too.

The theme of this year’s conference is: THE MAKING OF THE NEW AGE OPTOMETRIST. This we coined because we want to channel the learning and fun this conference has to offer into making optometrists who will cease to live in the past, optometrist who will dominate the future and all it has to offer."

He added that this year’s conference will be coordinated as him and his team are concentrated on having an equal-to-the-task logistic team. In his words, “we have paid very much attention to logistics so we can checkmate the challenges we have been experiencing in past conferences."

He added,"currently we have plans on not just working with only Nigerian optometry students but also with other schools of optometry in other countries like south Africa,Ghana and Zimbabwe,we are also planning for delegates to get their room number and  know who their roommates are even before arrivals to facilitate and ease stress on the part of our delegates,then most importantly we assure every delegates of their security as apart from the normal hotel premise security we will still have a well armed security team to secure our delegates.This conference will last for 4 days and throughout these days everything concerning all delegates will be covered within the conference levy including comfortable accommodation,feeding,lectures/seminar certificates and souvenirs.

I will urge all NOSANS to try and attend this conference as it will be highly interesting,educating and fun,so also constitutionally every optometry student as a matter of sacrosanctity needs to attend at least 3 conferences before graduation.
